Les Grandes Bastides d'Alquier

Faugères Red Blend 2011

"The population of Faugéres appelation is 3000...and the wine production is still under 100000 liters. That's less than 330 liters per person, which, at a litre a day, doesn't leave much room for exports. Still, you can occasionally find the reds washed up on distant shores...the red has the bony structure of vin de garde beneath a costume of sunmer fruit that flutters charmingly in its own endogenous breezes." Schistes Dorés Faugères Syrah Mourvédre

Big and bold. Sun dried tomato, a meaty and peppery scent, thyme, black olive, somewhere between a Saint Joseph and a Bandol. Still a baby. — a month ago

Clos Fantine

Faugères Natural Wine Carignan Blend 2017

Stellar bottle right here. Deep stewed black and red fruit, violets, campfire, rosemary & thyme, with plenty of barnyard funk, and river rocks. Great structure with grippy tannins on the mid-palate and sturdy acidity that keeps you coming back. Long pure finish. This kind of wine is firmly in my wheelhouse, and really came alive with turmeric baked chicken thighs. — 3 months ago

Jadis Faugères Carignane Blend 2014

Fantastico languedoc equilibrado tanto en el coupage como en maduracion. Fresco, agradable, lleno de fruta y con un toque de complejidad que no aburre y facilita mucho el maridaje. Precio increible a esa calidad. Buena opcion para consumo regular — 2 months ago

Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux Red Blend 2016

I really enjoyed this, even on Day 2. My husband said, "Too earthy," but maybe that's what I liked best. — 3 months ago
