More complex than the initial Portuguese wine we tried. Quite heavy but really interesting. Tasted great. — 7 years ago

Castelo do Vinteiro

Castelo do Vinteiro Douro 2015

Dense and dark red 👁️
Cherry, pear and some petrol 👃
High acidity.
Lemon tartness at first with some dark red fruit with hints of cloves and nutmeg. After a bit the soft and pleasent wood dryness arrives.
Medium body and a Light dry 🎯

Paired well with tomato pie, Arabic salad with tahini and a variety of latkes.

A pleasant one with good vfm (65 nis as part of a half case of Portuguese variety)

That strong tartness would make it a very gastronomic wine. Would work with everything.

Last try of the different Portuguese varaiety. All were more then decent and dead cheap.
