Think I opened this a bit early. Tannins were not quite integrated; it was a bit restrained and closed. Decanted 2 hours. Nice notes of leather, shoe polish, cherry syrup. Nose overperformed the palate. Still terrific. But I’ll wait a few years to open my other bottle. — 3 months ago

A soft ruby color with cherry red accents. Stunning nose of herbs, spices, truffles, and black tea. It goes without saying that this is a just a baby and should be held for a few more years but it’s honestly pretty hard to resist. Elegantly structured with nice balance, there is certainly some initial tightness going on here which a long decant helps with. Signature expressive Barbaresco profile with plenty of cherries, mushrooms, licorice, and that old Italian leather I love. Still years away from maturity but so good right now. — 7 years ago
