3 vintages; 10% 2020, 70% 2019, 20% 2018 All Sangiovese Grosso. So NV.
An interesting thing that works quite well. Leather, strawberries, and tilled soil on the nose.
The palate is soft, expansive, with a touch of acidity and very gentle tannins. Red and bluer fruits. Mid length finish.
Def a vino de tavola.

This was my first bottle i tasted from Stella and i remember comparing it to an Echezeaux, but it has gone next level up in body and complexity
I know it's a Rosso, but it feels like a huge Brunello with extra power.
Raspberry, leather, balsamic and licorice which are what you look for in a Brunello..plus wild strawberries, white plums, blood orange and nectarines...black truffle, cola, bay leaves, cardamom and soy sauce..and more trust me...in the mouth it's a refined sangiovese grosso vibrant, in tension and super enjoyable.
Had a little bruise on the label and didn't make it to the auction...
Sublime..made me so happy
At peak and perhaps also for many more years too — 3 years ago
Such a pleasure to drink a classic Brunello di Montalcino after a long time. Decanted for 2 hours. Garnet center with a hint of orange hue showing the age . Medium viscosity. I could see through the garnet center. On the nose I got ripe strawberries, blueberries , raspberries, licorice, and soils/earthiness. Aromatic happiness!!confirmed on the palate. Remarkable tannins - soft and velvet like! Persistent and juicy finish. Wine was dry, medium acidity, medium tannins, medium plus body, medium plus alcohol. A lovely balance of finesse and power in this bottle! My wife and I were having a homemade pizza on the patio, watching the sunset and chit chatting and didn’t realize we went through the bottle so easily! Time to bring in more good Sangiovese Grosso juice in the line up! — 4 years ago
Starting to fall in love with these Montepulciano reserves. This is a great one. Dark penetrating extracts of prune and dark tart cherry that unfold in your mouth like a 500 page book. Subtle, fine grained tannins carry the wine for a 3 minute lingering finish. Montepulciano wines are made from a special Sangiovese selection called Prugnolo gentile, a smaller berry with thinner skin than the larger berries from the Sangiovese grosso selection used in Brunello wines from Montalcino. Destiny flavor, needs a bit of an acquired taste , but once adapted they become addictive. — 2 years ago
90% Sangiovese Grosso & 10% Canaiolo Nero. Had my other bottle too young & was so tight & like a walnut. Today with 8 yrs & a decant it’s really starting to show its stuff: Barolo challenging stuffing, all lithe & sinewy roses & tar, softer, but a keeper for around 26$. What a steal. Just have to be patient. — 4 years ago

Grosso! Might be too big if I wasn’t tasting twenty-five other wines. Still, it was quite nice and I would revisit w something tomato. — 2 months ago
