Star bright yellow gold. Inviting nose of chalky lemon rind. Medium palate confirms the nose adding lime (the fruit), lime (the mineral), and green apple. Firm acidity from entry to the moderate finish which adds cilantro and cucumber that takes over the roof of the mouth. Wonderfully complex Super Tuscan white (Viognier and Chardonnay). Mediterranean fare is, of course, a natural -- Bronzino comes racing to mind -- but try with any seafood, lighter poultry, or cream sauce. Drink now through 2027. — a year ago
Perfect balance. Slightly spicy & earthy, with subtle fruit. I loved it, Z tolerated :)
Great surprise value at Vendome. BUY BUY 2007!! — 6 years ago
Dark garnet purple with color almost to the rim. Abundant nose of black cherry, brown spices, and cedar. Full-bodied palate echoes the nose adding red apple peel and a bit of black pepper back palate. Juicy medium plus minus acidity and oh so fine tannins that only assert just before the medium long finish place this squarely in the "fine dining food wine" category, though a snack of semi-hard cheeses and charcuterie will fare quite well. Caiarossa's "second wine" gives an experience right up there with the big boys of Super Toscana at a reasonable price. Take it to any dinner from now through 2030. — 2 years ago

A blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Merlot and Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and smoky oak. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry, cherry and plum flavors with dried herb notes, cacao, tobacco and toasty notes. Fine ripe sweet tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy smoky herb mineral spice character. Nice! — 7 months ago
Dark ruby with dark purple red core. Black cherry Kuchen and terra cotta dominate the nose and medium palate. Juicy medium plus acidity. Fine, medium plus tannins bat cleanup. What's not to love about Caiarossa's entry-level red? Everything you want in a Toscana at this price point. Great with food (I'm having penne with sausage… you can try a southwestern steak with a baked potato), and a tasty autumn sipper all with enough "stuff" to lay down for a short while. Drink now through 2030. Preferably now. — 2 years ago

The perfect wine for Veal Pizzaiola. Beautiful Super Tuscan. Strong start followed by tannic finish. A complex wine. — 9 days ago
