I generally am a critic of chardonnay. But this got my attention when I opened it and noticed some residual pressure in the bottle- maybe this bottle was flawed with a bit of bacteria? Well it gave it a multiple dimensions that were not masked by oak and opened up as the bottle came up to room temperature. Certainly worth revisiting and happy to see a more natural chardonnay coming out of California. — 3 years ago
Slightly fruitier than the Chappallet. Vegetative but stewed fruit, oak, medium-light tannins. — 5 years ago
Nice and light — 2 years ago
Re-visiting this cab blend. Still the best bottle that they have to offer. — 2 years ago

los altos. SS fermentation. bright crisp fruit. rich body with balanced acidity. soft finish. drank again in 2020-rich mouthfeel, almost buttery, still crisp fruit, nice aged sauv blanc — 7 years ago
A fortified late estate harvest of their estate Santa Cruz Mountains pinot noir.
I didn't like this when I first poured some from a couravin - too much oak and residual sugar. But now I revisit after 4 month of sitting in the bottle with that micro amount of oxygen and it's much better- I smell leather and desicated fruit over the oak and taste less sweetness than before, more of a tannic front with a nice balance of savory jam and subtle smoke notes.
Nice. I guess the lesson is that these 2014's need to sit in the bottle for a few more years. — 3 years ago
Very nice, garnet color, aromas of cherries, berries, anise and vanilla. Smooth and tastes amazing! Mis of Cabernet Sauvignon, merlot and Cabernet franc. — 7 years ago

This is drinking really well right now, but think it could still develop over another few years.
Fascinating nose- the Merlot (30%) and Cab Franc cut into the typica red fruit cab and deliver tart/ripe red apple skins, fresh dark earth & mushroom and harvested hay.
Nice acid delivers that promise of red apples. Medium long acid and surprisingly low tannins. I'm not a fan of the aftertaste though- too much oak in there. — a year ago
