Dezzani ‘Otto Bucce’ Piemonte DOC Rosso 2017: Medium-bodied. Soft tannins. Low acidity. Tasting notes of strawberry, cherry, plum, vanilla, spice & oak. Medium dry finish. For me, this was an interesting wine as the label translates to “8 skins” hence blended from eight different grapes: Dolcetto 60%, Barbera 21%, Bonarda 5%, Merlot 5%, Cabernet Sauvignon 4%, Freisa 3%, Albarossa 1% & Syrah 1%. All in all, it works and comes together rather nicely. It’s complex, fruity & surprisingly well done. Great find! Great value! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago

This wine is deep gold with notable haze and visible lees, due to lack of fining / filtration, which gives this wine great texture and weight.
The extended skin contact contributes not only the color and texture, but the aromatic notes of ripe cantaloupe, honeydew, orange peel, grapefruit pith, also dried orange blossom, freshly cut herbs, wet slate, tomato leaf, and salinity.
Vintage 2019. ABV 13%.

Very floral. Flowers and great minerality. None of the almond associated with verdicchio. Some spice I can’t place. Allspice? Nutmeg? Requires further research so I can give an accurate review. Had this with Pollo in Potacchio- a Marchegiani recipe. — 4 months ago
