Fizzy and light. Cherry fruit. Easy drinking- and great for a light lunch. At this tiny out of the way restaurant in Italy, — 5 years ago

After 8 years Buca di S. Antonio doesn’t disappoint.
The Brunello was outstanding, from a great vintage. Paired wonderfully with the pasta bolognese and veal loin. The waiter also poured a 2017 to compare. The 2016 is better and enjoyable now. A delicious dinner at a amazing restaurant. — 4 years ago

Sommelier recommended and I was hesitant . Scott said let's do it ..... wow!!! Fantastic. So light, so complex and stood up to our pizza and pasta. Drank like a Pinot with a heavier body ....exaggerated old world earth. Yum !!! Had at buca yorkville. Order every time — 9 years ago

Gum drying tannins that disappeared 15 minutes after opening. Dark color on this young sangiovese, from Emiglia Romagna. Enjoyed it at Buca San Petronio, Bologna. — 8 years ago

Medium ruby , with a medium wide garnet rim . Cut herbs and some spice on the nose , sage , thyme , porcini and cedar . There is some spiced cherry fruit and rose underneath , this shows some development . On the palate there are spiced red cherries , dried herbs, gaining complexity with time in the glass. Fresh acidity and grippy tannin . Good menthol tinged finish . This is well balanced , though there is still good density the alcohol is balanced. It is showing a bit of development, the aromatics are really inviting and there is good complexity on the palate too. The last glass was the best , showing ample structure and a darker fruit character so I think this will age a bit further the tannins are still a bit noticeable, so from now (with time in the glass or decanter ) and over the next 8-12 years. At Ristorante Buca Lapi, Florence . — 19 days ago
