Señor De Lesmos Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2017

02.2025: great once aerated. Woody and smooth on the palate. Smells great and paired well with swordfish — a day ago

Juan Gil Jumilla Mourvedre 2017

Juan Gil Jiménez first built his winery in 1916 in Jumilla, and passed it down to his future generations. From 100% Certified Organic Monastrell (or Mourvèdre in France), in chalky, stony soils, aromas of dark berry fruits and woody spice. Aged 12 months in French oak, palate shows blackberry and plum with smoky wood flavors and notes of cacao and cinnamon spice. Soft ripe tannins, medium+ ending with a light toasty earthy character. Great value! Very nice! — 7 months ago

Similar to a cab sauv — strong aroma but not too strong on the palette. Not oaky which is great! Dad likes this one a lot. — a month ago

Jumilla Red Blend 2021

Well, here’s to still having power. I don’t want to jinx us but it seems like every time we have a hurricane we lose power! I’m stocked up and ready. I’m in central Florida, in between Gainesville and Orlando. Please pray for those who will get hit the hardest tonight! 🙏🏻 I’ve spent the past few days in our Emergency Operations Center and it’s not supposed to be good especially since the coast hasn’t cleaned up from Helene. — 5 months ago

We’re good. Lost power over night but it’s back on. Feeling very thankful compared to other parts of the state

Finca Las Moras

Reserva San Juan Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2018

Needed a steak tonight and found this place that has two of my favorites…Beef Wellington and ribeye cap. I went with the ribeye tonight. $80 pesos per ounce. Delicious. Should have upgraded the wine for this experience. — 3 years ago

Jumilla Monastrell 2021

9.0

Not your standard jammy Monastrell: deep wafting (mostly) dark fruited aromas, licorice & minerals, just oozing - peppery notes as well. Broad smooth on palate (med + weight) not much acidity, rugged tannins leading to modest finish. Great QPR @ Costco — 2 months ago

Alma Mora Malbec 2022

Slight fruity smell and a great taste, not sweet but not dry. In my opinion a well balanced red wine to accompany any moment. — 6 months ago

Realm Cellars

Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

From back when I could afford Realm (was one of the early people on their mailing list thanks to a chance meeting with Juan Mercado), this wine was absolutely breathtaking. Classic Napa cab…and one of the few 10s I’ve ever given out. Just amazing. — 3 years ago
