Opened 7/23/18. Clearly a modernist and well made wine with some old world earthiness. Nose was terrific and enticing for prolonged sniffing. Mouth feel quite firm and a bit tannic and some heat. 15% ABV. Will age very nicely. Better the next day with improved balance. Great with Bob's grilled ribeye. — 6 years ago

Chenin Blanc 2018

Delicious and spot on for summer patio lunch (grilled shrimp and creamy grits etc)…great volumous mouthful and generous stone fruit (peach) with just enough acid verve. Quaffable :) 13$ — 3 years ago

At Maria's. Brought without conception of what it is. A surprising white. Great floral notes balanced with stone and earth tones that keeps going and found. Lively complex and acidic on palate and long finish. Went very well with Bob's ciopino. Well, turned out to be from JR and only two bottles at $43! And says to be patient and wait ten years! At least I know what it's like young! Sure a worthy Italian white that snuck in for a nice surprise when not expected. Half Voignier and half Grecetto! — 6 years ago

For me it has easily been a year since the last time I experienced one of these. And wow let me tell you this one would STILL confuse me if I was blindfolded and asked to tell the year of vintage. I would have guessed 2014 or 2015. This wine is POWERFUL. Complex, deep, structure is massive. The nose of this wine is blackberry and dark chocolate. The entry is dark, deep blackberry, cassis, smokey. Middle has some mint chocolate chip, dates. Finishes strong, very youthful, immense amount of black pepper and still quite tannic. Still has 7-10 years in it. Drink 2018-2028 — 6 years ago

More fruit than funk. This one was not at the very front or back of a lineup consisting of a 2012 Plumpjack, 2005 Cayuse En Cerise, 2013 Sleight of hand Psychedelic, 2009 Alban Reva, 2007 Bevan Bob's Cuvee Dry Stack Syrah, and a 2015 Montagu Hyde. Would definitely enjoy again if someone else was buying. I was very surprised to find a lot fruit still here. The cellartracker drink by window seems to have expired a couple of years ago, yet I did not really get many tertiary notes out of this wine at all. A lot of dark fruit here. Ripe blackberry, boysenberry, hint of earthy grit to the middle and finish. Still seemed to finish with a little bit of resolving tannin. The finish definitely has rounded off. Enjoyed quite a bit, yet if you have this in your cellar I would start opening! — 6 years ago

Really cool bottle. Power of persuasion may have been why I picked up some eucalyptus but it was faint. There was an old graham cracker note too. Ripe blackberry, cassis, and vanilla pipe tobacco. Would like to try one of these younger.
