Riserva Pipparello Montefalco Rosso Sangiovese Blend 2017

Sangiovese / sagrantino / montepulciano blend from hilltop vineyard, several years of tank and cask ageing but no new wood. Huge wine but somehow manages to be lively and dimensional. Dark, fleshy red and black fruits with lots of savory, herbal and floral elements — a month ago

'a Rina Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese - Nerello Cappuccio

What a lovely and delightful wine! We served it along with a root vegetable pot roast over jalapeño cheddar grits, and all of my guests thought it worked really well. It has enough strength and backbone along with graceful bright fruit, and that fabulous Italian acidity. What a wonderful food wine. — 14 days ago

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia

Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia Bolgheri Rosso Merlot Blend 2019

Wine is dark ruby, with purplish on the edge. On nose its ripe fruit, floral parfumed, oak in there, violets, tobacco. On palate, wine is full bodied, jammy, fine acidity, tannic, wine is open up after 1 hour decant. The intensity is there. Its still too young to drink. Try it after 2026. Red bordeaux blend, Cheers! — a month ago

Tenuta Il Poggione

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese

Very good Rosso di Montalcino! Especially with hard cheese and Italian bread! Would also be great with pasta, grilled meats, etc al. Just okay as a sipping wine but comes alive with food!Cherries, brambley fruits, low tannins, good qpr especially as compared to Brunello! — a month ago

Woodcutter's Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021

So jammy on the nose, fruit bomb for sure. Blueberry, boysenberry, and blackberry bramble. Notes of charred wood and meat. A hint of eucalyptus. Nice spice. Medium acid, high alcohol and medium plus tannin. I think it would do well with a few years and a nice barbecued hunk of meat. — 2 months ago
