Backroads

Delicious. First time trying this brewery. Formal notes are lost on me as I began to show off electric guitars. 😅 — 25 days ago

BlueBird Hill Cellars

Duology Viognier-Chardonnay Blend 2016

BlueBird Hill Cellars is a tiny winery located in Monroe, Oregon—one can find it navigating a series of winding, scenic backroads between Salem and Eugene, that wend their way to the foothills of the Coastal mountain range, their 2016 Duology is a blend of 55% Viognier and 45% Chardonnay that emits pear, white peach, white flowers, and coconut flake on the nose. The attack feels quite dry, but there is a subtle nuanced sweetness at the core, like tender peaches at the height of ripeness nicely balanced by nicely balanced by a mouthwatering burst of acidity that adds length to a gently meandering finish. — 7 years ago

Ultra Las Rocas Malbec 2018

A surprising Mendoza Malbec that’s not huge and tastes like it came from the backroads of Bordeaux — 4 years ago

T-Vine Cellars

The Portrait Series “Distant Past” Calistoga Petite Sirah Zinfandel

My first experience of this wine was at a tasting at their cellar door last December. Before that my favorite offering from T-Vine was their Petit Syrah. This is now my favorite. I’ve rated my first bottle after that. This is now my second bottle. It is awesome. Refer to my prior rating or look to the winemaker’s notes..,,, “Brooding and deep, this wine elicits notes of dark berries, a touch of leather, dusty backroads and cocoa nibs. Rich fruit flavors and grippy tannins cover every inch of the palate with effortlessly integrated complexity.” Amen to that. — 4 years ago

Riserva Pinin Barolo Nebbiolo 2004

2004 - $80
Drinking great right now! Freshly paved, Tennessee backroads, smoky, dried rose petals and a good dose of potpourri.
