Fascinating offering from Hungary. Petrol, honey, grill grease, lemon candy, gardenia, dried acacia wood on the nose. Palate starts with a nice zippy ginger lime zest, followed by golden plum, white cherry, honeysuckle, and a touch of woody spice on a medium finish. Well balanced with a rich and nicely polished mouthfeel; like something between an old Riesling and a good ‘wurtz. Ever so slight bitterness at the very end but would def buy again — 10 months ago
Online this shows as a blend of 55% Kekfrankos, 23% Cab Franc, 12% Pinot Noir, 5% Zweigeit and 5% Blauberger with 14.0% ABV. New barrel and rich fruit aromas, quite youthful and nicely complex, long finish, very nice!! — a year ago
