Big very big 15%. Good Atkins has it 96 points. A ton of sour cherry! In a cab. Blackberry, Tealeaves, very sophisticated tannins. Refined. Not my style but excellent. — 2 years ago
Nose has pineapple core, warmed toffee, over-ripe mango, lanolin, warm beeswax, wet river rock, (grilled) ripe pineapple and faint warm green herbs. So GD fragrant, it's killing us, wow.
Palate has waxy pineapple, warmed yellow apple, butterscotch candy, peach peel, warm brioche, caramel, (minor) green melon with an extensive finish, so long, OMG we are in heaven.
Decanted 3h, then double decanted and back into the refrigerator for service temp, 1h.
Paired with a beautifully grilled slab of steelhead trout, fish was honestly 96 points, our regular fish source, but this was a thicker cut than normal. Also toasted orzo with our garden herbs and some sauteed summer squash.
Honestly I'm at a loss of words for the quality of everything delivered to the table tonight.
Some pictures of my favorite things tonight, which also includes an absolute stunning guitar album featuring Les Paul and Chet Atkins, 'Chester & Lester', two of the best old school guitar greats. If you get a guitar named after you, well, enough said...
Prior bottle was fully different than this one, is this the God Bottle, and it landed in my hands tonight? Next few bottles will be my proof, so we'll see. — 6 years ago

Nice 180 spin from that Project 18 , now I need a 🥩! K&L notes Many folks are very much aware of the La Rioja Alta "Viña Ardanza" bottling. In contrast to the Ardanza, the "904" contains Tempranillo and Graciano (no Garnacha) and is every bit as traditional. It sees aging in used American oak barrels for 48 months, racking twice a year, and then further aging in bottle. The wine always has a sumptuous, velvety texture, with more bass notes in place of Ardanza's higher toned, red-fruited profile, and a lovely, meaty savor to the wine. 96 points Tim Atkins: "A typically complex, age-worthy blend of Tempranillo with 10% Graciano, this is mostly sourced from cooler sites conferring higher acidity. It more than lives up to the excellent quality of the vintage, — 5 years ago

I'm not a Napa expert, but many of my Delectable buddies are. Have you had this wine? Pulled it last night, and while my palate was overloaded from other wines we tasted, I knew I was into something good. Revisiting it today for a 2nd day taste. Exceptional! The 31% Cab Franc is the star of the show here, adding great structure and depth. The wine is soft but tannic, with prominent flavors of blackberries, currant, tomato, and violets. This could have waited 5 more years. Beautifully constructed wine, and the best I've had in months. I only wish I had another bottle or 14.
