Tasted blind. Dark purple with tawny rims. Powerful sharp nose. Notes of black fruit, pepper, rhubarb, dark spice and dark earth. Has that tinny mouth feel that I’ve associated with 96s before. I find this young and harsh, with a massive core of fruit hidden underneath. The profile implies to me it’s Vogue and I throw out a 99 Musigny guess. Others liked this wine more than me. I question if the fruit can ever balance with the in-your-face acidity and structure. Some 96s have stated to soften and move into a drinking window. For me, not this one yet. — 10 days ago
Brambly black fruit - fresh, crushed, juicy - with a big pinch of pepper. Add to this a bit of violets and some crushed rock - this is not a shy wine.
Poised & balanced on the palate with juicy acidity, fine tannins and a sense of place. Quite elegant, too.
Shows Cinsault stand-alone can make a really nice wine. — 7 days ago
This deserves higher ratings! I love Alpine whites. Never had Altesse before, but it reminds me of good Swiss Chasselas. Very dry of course, but distinctly mineral and mountainous with a fruity, elegant aroma. — 7 days ago

Very light in body and color, translucent. Smooth red fruit on the nose no alcohol burn. Nice strawberry/cherry and very light, good summer time wine. Good tartness but maybe a touch too much but has a lingering sweetness that helps balance it. Reminds me more of something like a gamay than a pinot noir. Fair value for the price and was a fitting way to honor the anniversary of Nel's passing :( — 16 days ago
