Alliance between 2 wine cultures (French/Argentine), 2 noble grape varieties (Cab Sauv & Malbec), & 2 wine families (Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) & Nicolas Catena). Blend of 60% Malbec & 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in 75% new French oak. Deep Ruby with complex aromas of dark berry fruits, smoky oak and earthy spice. On palate blackberry and cherry, with cedar, nuts and burnt cacao. Developed tannins, well balanced on long finish ending with espresso and mineral tones. — 3 months ago
This lovely red burgundy from Vosne Romanee is a lovely weekend wine and was a splendid companion to the cool summer mountain air .
This village wine is simply sublime, elegant, smooth and delicious. The nose is tempting , the body like velvet and the finish is begging for a second bottle.
To my understanding this domaine doesn’t exist any longer which is a shame! Well at least I still have half a case.

If it didn’t have such a weird name I probably wouldn’t have bought it, hefty decant needed but 😳👍🏼

Showing beautifully from barrel and not disappointing from bottle, the 2012 Hommage a Francois Durif No. 1 (I reviewed this last year as the Petite Sirah) is a blend of 100% Petite Sirah that's certainly one of the finest examples of this variety coming out of California. Inky colored and a big, voluptuous and decadent beauty, it offers terrific notes of blackcurrants, plum, toasted spice, leather, graphite and espresso. Full-bodied, concentrated, rich and yet always balanced and light on its feet, it has sensational purity of fruit, a big, rich mid-palate and tons of sweet tannin that coat the palate and lengthen the finish. I wouldn't open another bottle for 2-3 years, but it will have 15-20 years of longevity. — 3 months ago
Very light oak, in a good way, has a nice creaminess to it but not overpowering. Really nice! — 5 months ago
