Really light and refreshing, light almond flavour but not exactly nutty. Very clean simple wine. — 7 years ago
Exquisite mild and we'll balanced Chianti — 9 years ago
What's Sinalunga? This is La Castellana! The dark wine - very dark - has aromas to match. The gorgeous nose wafts up from the glass with so much to offer, you might miss the beautiful black plum and blueberry notes. There’s also a hatful of spice and coffee and mocha and vanilla rising. Oh, and don't forget the tobacco and the little smear of tar that drags it all into savory land. On the palate, big, bold fruit blasts forward in a hail of tannins. Be sure to let it air out a good while and have some big, bold, red meat standing by to give those angry tannins something to work on. The blackberry flavors are most pronounced, but they wear a cedar-tinged cloak which is lined with a rack of spices. This is a steakhouse wine, to be sure. An Italian steakhouse. Not as good as the castellana, but still incredibly delicious! — 9 years ago
Juicy and funky. Paired well with grilled Italian sausages. — 10 years ago
Really great wine, one of the more complex chianti classic is we've had. Accompanied one of our best meals in Tuscany at La Castellana - Montefiorella. Mind blowing ricotta and truffle ravioli in quaint setting. — 11 years ago

If I had rated this one the night I opened it, I would have given it a slightly lower score. At first, I caught aromas of leather and meat drippings and flavors of sundried tomatoes. A couple of nights later, the wine had opened up nicely and had more floral and spice aromas and flavors of red berries and earth. Needless to say, an interesting wine, indeed. And from the Canary Islands! Huh. 90% Listan Negro, 10% Castellana Negra. 9/1/22. — 4 years ago

Goes very well with a frittata brunch. Not to sweet or dry. — 10 years ago
Petrol, gunpowder, forest floor, burnt caramel, decayed red fruit, subtle stewed tomato, remnants of tannic structure, soft acidic touch. Complex nose gives way to shortened, focused finish. — 12 years ago

Great summer wine. Incredible value as well. — 13 years ago
