The Antinori family has lived in Tuscany since the 14th century and celebrated its 625th anniversary as wine makers in 2010. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and oak. Cherry and plum flavors with garden herb notes, cacao and toasty tones from 18 months of oak aging. Full ripe tannins you can bite into, lingering ending with an earthy spice character. Good now, will continue to improve over next few years, but why wait on this gem.

Had the excellent 2010 vintage, the latest release, at the winery. This is a Gran Selezione which is higher than Riserva. Lovely nose with cherry and herbal notes. Light to neutral oak influence using Hungarian oak. Really enjoyed this. Intense without being heavy and great value at 30 Euros. This will fly out the door.

Needs decanting. Fruity with a hint of leather. Delayed tannins

Dried leather and tobacco, olives, stewed plums. A few years has done this wine well.

Bullseye! Exactly what a Chianti should taste like. Refined and elegant, the nose is cherries and tobacco, the palette starts out berry, but quickly finishes with classic Chianti astringency. One of the best Chiantis I have had, and for $40 it’s a great bargain.

Would have rated it higher if it had been stored and served at the proper temperature.

Taste like the castle that's on the bottle, delicate , rare, and beautiful. Enjoyed it with good friends :)
