This Virginia gold-medal winner threw me a curveball. Not a traditional build, this had a particularly heavy mid-palate mouth feel coupled with interesting herbal characteristics. The spice note was present but interwoven with unique fruit notes that became an acquired taste after the second glass and a little bit of air. I might give this one another try ;) however, I struggle to find the answer for the answer for its high accolade. — 8 years ago

Famous #australian #riesling from the #clarevalley made by #accolade company #leasingham . From the hot season of #2003 though mot looking shabby; pale gold yes; spice and restraint not strong kero or honey; backward a little; evolving fruit; blessed by screwcap; 12.5%. — 9 years ago
Velvety smooth, creamy, not massively fruity, really rich flavour though. Quaffable. — 5 years ago
Aromas of mushroom and forest floor. Great intensity on the palate. One of the most impressive statements I’ve ever read about this winery and it’s wines was from Rob Geddes MW who said “Putting it simply, Bass Phillip has made some of the best Pinot Noir I’ve drunk in my whole life, from anywhere of any age”. I would think that Rob, being a Master of Wine would have drunk quite a number of Grand Crus in his time so this is quite the accolade. Even at 12 years of age still a future - say 3 to 5 years. Phillip Jones says up to 15 years. Palate staining root vegetable juice!! — 6 years ago
With A dry vine aroma, this wine carries across a delicious fruity flavor which slowly recedes into a merry accolade of freshly ground coffee — 11 years ago

Just a swig. A little syrah-like, I thought. Probably the vintage. Still, a complex number with good energy. On a separate note, a well-deserved accolade for Josh this year - Best New Winery at the Halliday Wine Companion Awards. Bravo! — a year ago
