Heerlijke pinot noir. Voor herhaling vatbaar. Lekker bij eendenborst. — 6 months ago
At 14% alcohol and a medium to medium plus cherry color this is a big #burgundy wine. Gevrey is always a little bit bigger than other villages, but this wine in particular and especially side-by-side with the Savigny-Les-Beaune seems particularly ripe and rich. It’s enjoyable and yet not what I was expecting only 3304 bottles made — 7 months ago
Actually Mourvedre 100%
I was recommended to try this over the Grenache that is also very good i was told but this wine had a smoother tannin and potentially i could served it chilled too.
..well, i didn't drink it chilled, but i see what my friend meant..i am learning to appreciate chilled reds up here, i realise that you cannot have big reds when it is particularly warm weather and i must admit it makes sense.
The wine is delicious btw
On the nose it has a floral violet scent that i deeply loved. It has a good crunchy fruit that varied from sour cherry to fuji apple to pomegranate. A lovely mineral character too.
Palate is crunchy, vibrant and smooth.
It is hard to detect the tannin which in a mourvedre is rare.
I guess it has been tamed pretty well.
However this is not a thin wine, it has its structure and a long finish.
Only 2650 bottles produced.
I had Edouard Maurisset with me on the road representing the Delaunay wines from Burgundy and he is business partner with Michael and Claire who are more local to McLaren Vale.
It is a great project.
We visited one of my customer and literally bumped in their wines.
That's how i met this wine.
Great discover. — a year ago
This Pommard pours an opaque, dark ruby red with a medium to full body. Has really intense, tasty raspberry and cherry flavors with an undercurrent of leather and slight hints of spice and cocoa. Has medium acidity, good structure, and smooth mouthfeel. It came across as linear and lacking complexity unfortunately. I kept expecting an additional layer of flavor to come through on the palate or finish, but never happened. Decanting for a couple hours had little impact. — 2 months ago
Loved this Pinot, it was so drinkable, definitely good with poultry or on its own. Total Wine. $16 — 7 months ago

Edouard Delaunay – Pinot Noir – 2023
Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits AOC – Burgundy, France 🇫🇷
Overview
100% Pinot Noir from higher-altitude sites west of the Côte de Nuits, where cooler conditions preserve freshness and aromatic clarity. A refined, terroir-driven Burgundy showing surprising precision and balance for the appellation.
Aromas & Flavors
Red cherries, cranberry, and raspberry with subtle rose petal, light earth, and a gentle herbal lift. Bright fruit rather than extraction, with a whisper of oak spice on the finish.
Mouthfeel
Light-medium body with lively acidity, silky tannins, and a clean, elegant structure. Refreshing, delicate, and quietly complex, more finesse than power.
Food Pairings
Roast chicken, seared duck breast, mushroom risotto, Comté, charcuterie, or classic French bistro fare.
Verdict
A graceful and well-made Bourgogne with purity, balance, and lift. Understated and charming; perfect for Burgundy fans who enjoy subtlety over opulence.
Did You Know?
Hautes-Côtes de Nuits vineyards sit 100–150m higher than the Côte d’Or, giving wines naturally higher acidity and fresher aromatics, traits increasingly prized in modern Burgundy. — 5 months ago
A regional 100% Chard sourced mainly from Côte d’Or (the Côte de Beaune and the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits), and Mâconnais deemed as Edouard’s house signature and sensible price point. Truly “à la mode” Chard that combines freshness of citrus, lemon and orange, with elegance and subtle aromas of mandarine peel. Barely any of cream, but soft on the mid-range palate with a finish of hazelnut and an amazing dry and clean completion of baked pear layers. — a year ago

Really nice wine. Fruity, light bodied, high acidity. Had it with sausage and peppers. Perfect compliment — a month ago
