Jory Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Delicious. Lots of layers here. Opens w cheery and Red fruit but reveals depth w tobacco, white pepper, dried strawberries, and cedar. Interestingly strong tannic wash even though tannins don’t dominate the flavor period. The willakenzie single vineyards are a treat. — 5 months ago

Shea Vineyard is located in Yamhill-Carlton AVA with Willakenzie (sedimentary) soil. Dark fruit and floral note on the nose. Black cherry, blackberry, plum and raspberry fruit, with black tea, anise, cola, smoke and a subtle cinnamon spice note.

Pierre Léon Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2015

Nose was super-candied cherry right out the gate and then got a little shyer with air. The cherry got a bit deeper and sultry, accompanied by a gorgeous and increasing moist gravelly earthiness and a bit of spice. Not heavy, but surprisingly extracted in the mouth, with a lot of tannin. Very savory and long, with a growing bitter note in the finish. Better with food than a solo sipper. — 7 months ago
