Gorgeous wine from the McLaren Vale region. I’m not usually a Chardonnay drinker but I love this one with its citrus and buttery notes — 7 days ago
This was fun. Tastes like a funky, peach wine cooler. Good for dining al fresco. — 14 days ago
Notre Vue Estate Winery Balverne Russian River Valley Forever Wild Chardonnay 2019, California
Pale lemon in color with a green/ golden hue.
Nice nose of lemons, cedar, vanilla, toast, limes, grapefruits, honeysuckle, apples, honeydew, earth, minerals, sea salt and light river rocks.
Full bodied, buttery and smooth, with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with citrus, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, oak, vanilla, peppercorn, wet leaves and earth.
Nice tangy finish with almonds.
This is a very enjoyable Chardonnay from Russian River Valley. Elegant, fruity and interesting.
Loved the nose here. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime (20 minutes).
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses, crackers and olives.
100% Chardonnay grapes were aged for 5 months in French Oak barrels (20% new).
14.2% alcohol by volume.

Well, the 2016 has turned the page / it seems to be paradigm shift from the previous vintages (tighter, restrained, minimal oak). The ‘16 is quite voluminous with warm caramel brioche and baked lemon liquor. While golden and opulent, this is not a gentle and elegant food wine. Thus I am on the fence whether I want another bottle… I probably will get one because it’s still available and look for a better food pair. Day two, allowed for some beautiful sipping, though ;) edit: I will get another bottle…very nice sipper on day 2…mouthfeel is glorious! — a month ago
Salty lemon verbena that on day 3 sings like a mermaid.2016. Drinking to remember JS who lost his chance so strangely… — 9 days ago
