Hall Wines

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

The wine by @Hall Wines; the dog by Sullivan, named after @Sullivan Vineyards.
Big, chewy, and unctuous. Slightly different notes than last tasting. Blackberry jam mixed with mocha, vanilla-laced oak, and licorice flavors. A bit more fruit-forward than last vintages, this packs a punch. Such a steal - Costco usually has it and it’s only $40.

Sullivan Vineyards

Reserve Rutherford Merlot 2008

I think this would have been 9.x a year or so ago. Was much better after a good decant vs the initial taste. — 4 years ago

Marqués de Cáceres

Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2012

Rioja by Marqués de Cáceres. Canine by Sullivan. Named after my favorite winery @Sullivan Vineyards.
A WS Top 100. Needs to breathe. Lots of black cherry, rose petal and tar flavors. An austere, loam-filled finish. Big-time producer that I’m usually not a fan of, but they hit this one out of the park. $15 at Costco friends.

Château Les Miaudoux

Côtes de Bergerac Sec Sauvignon Blend 2017

Like a white Bordeaux slammed into an Ugni blanc. And then things settled down and it’s in my glass. What an awful description, I’ll learn wine terms soon. @Rob Sullivan introduced me to this wine so I’m basically immediately impressed with his taste. 😊 — 4 years ago

Ridge Vineyards

Sullivan Sonoma County Zinfandel Petite Sirah 2005

Matt Austin

The only year that Ridge produced a single vineyard wine from this vineyard. The grapes usually end up in their entry level Three Valleys blend. Good, but I can kinda see why. — 5 years ago
