Tomahawk Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Got together with some friends last night. Celebrated the end of Shelter in Place for TX. Great dark berries with a little pepper at the end. Nice bottle of wine is the perfect way to celebrate — a year ago

Yummy. Love it. Light and fresh, very easy drinking! Great summer wine! Verve box featuring German wines. — a month ago

Domaine de Bellene

Savigny-Les-Beaune Chardonnay 2017

A classic French white burgundy that was unequivocally one of the best Chardonnay we’ve had all year. It didn’t make up for shelter in place but pretty close. No value buy but the true beauty of US v French white burgundy is on display here. Light new oak and lemons with slight hint of melon all in one. Chase this down and secure more. They had this on close out 2 years ago at a local retailer - 2011 vintage, we bought a handful of bottles and the first few were amazing, right at peak, then the last bottle months later was dead - cool to have a wine at the top then shortly after dead on the other side. Agree with you, the good bottles were some of the best I had last year

Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Celebrating getting back together with friends after shelter at home with a 1997 Quintessa cab. Cork was spongy, but the Durand was able to pull in one piece. On open, I was sure the wine was done as was quite reddish brown and it smelled a bit vinegary. About 40 minutes of air was all it needed to open up. Soft fruit nose with a savory mid-palate of tobacco and leather. Nice finish. #quintessa — a year ago

Signature Donn Chappellet Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Day 330 of shelter-in-place. Older vintages already consumed, so I am opening the 2018. It is fine, balanced, enough tannins and fruit to be interesting. — 4 months ago

Maison Saint Aix

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Rosé 2019

Very interesting Rosé, complexion of fruit notes (super very subtle of watermelon) but so smooth finishes (wet The whole mouth with more saliva, but yet dry acidic fresh)
No wonder why they have this in a magnum sizes, Cuz it’s enjoyable for everyone, even the beginner to the wine tasting. Drinking in the pool, during a first date or at home during shelter in place, suitable of ‘em all lol.

Sine Qua Non

Dangerous Birds Sta. Rita Hills Syrah 2007

2007 Vintage. 15.5% Alcohol. Estate Syrah from Eleven Confessions vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills. Now at it’s peak and unfortunately our last bottle. Belated Gail’s birthday SQN as most of our “liquid assets” were at the WineBank that was closed except for emergencies and acceptance of shipments during our shelter-in-place. Now allowing appointments to put away our spring shipments from Top, Fulldraw, Aaron, Benom, and more. Massive liquid raspberry and red fruits on the nose and palate with a finish lasting 5 minutes. Amazing wine and definitely birthday quality. — a year ago
