Gorgeous dark nose. Mullberry, black cherries, black berries, deep spice and earth tones. Super lifted and aromatic. I’m not sure if this is Ardeche or Moselle. I’ll circle back. Seems Ardeche. Very pretty. Even hints of floral. Sawdust. Smoke. Surprisingly complex. Palate is luscious and ample with tangy red fruits and lovely freshness. Good energy and almost a red Riesling quality. This is Ardeche as the granite is coming through now. Lovely sweetness as it opens. Very good for everyday Pinot. — 14 days ago
Pale lemon green; medium intensity aromas of yellow apple skin, yellow apple, apple blossom, firm pear, quince, subtle sawdust; dry, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, only moderately concentrated but nicely complex, flavors bright and clean — 4 months ago
Old vine Portugieser, spontaneously fermented with 50% whole cluster, matured in old large wood for 18m.
This is full of black dusty fruit (plums, mulberries) with a whiff of allspice and cloves. There’s also a fresh floral note. On the palate this is light yet fruity full - cool, fresh, juicy, sappy, with decent acidity and light, sawdust like tannins. Nothing complex or fancy but so fresh, so alive & drinkable, joyful. Delightful!

Nose has cherry, ripe blackberry, leather, strawberry jam, dried cranberry, ripe plum, dry leather and moist cigar.
Palate has blackcurrant jam, ripe plum, ripe strawberry, dried cherry, cedar sawdust with firm tannins and a long finish.
A notable improvement over our prior bottle a few years back.
Cork pulled for slow oxidation for 2H, then decanted 4H, more time appreciated. Drink now or hold until 2024-28.

Not showing as well aromatically as previous vintages, some of which have been my favorite rosés of all time. However, this has wild strawberries and sawdust on the nose and is chock full of acid and minerals per usual. Still a very good bottle of wine.
