Red fruit, black fruit, cherry cola, sawdust. Stellar. — 7 days ago
These are 2011 grapes, disg in March 2017 with 5 g/L dosage. The bubbles are strong to begin, so if I were to do this again, I would either give this a few years or a decant...or just let it sit for a while. Notes from 4 hrs open. On the nose: pure chalk, followed by lemon oil...slathered in minerality. With vigorous swirling, a touch of sawdust. On the palate, fantastic acidity paired with excellent depth: lemon oil, a suggestion of custard, good salinity and soft mousse lifts these flavors. A very nice, complex style. — a month ago
Earthy barn funk moss leather molasses cassis oak sawdust. Full bodied, good length, could have a touch more fullness but excellent. — 2 months ago
Nose has recently crushed granite, grilled/warmed black cherry, dried citrus, (minor) moist cedar sawdust, licorice, red Twizzlers© candy and white pepper.
Palate has ripe cherry, dried cherry, fresh orange zest, dark chocolate shavings, dried blueberries, all very round and complete on the palate. Medium-short finish. Definite improvement with additional age!
About two years since our last bottle, doing quite well this evening, can hold another 4-6Y (2024-26) in proper storage. — 19 days ago
Smells like wet rocks, nature, ice cold river, fresh squeezed lemon and orange rinds. Notes of honey, sawdust and hay, with an apricot finish. Light and zesty and melts like honey. — 19 days ago
Sawdust on nose and palette — 2 months ago
Nose has blackberry, moist sawdust, cut pomegranate, red vines candy, mashed raspberry and cold green herbs.
Palate has sweetened dried cherries, over-ripe strawberry, fresh blackberry, white pepper with mild tannins and refreshing acidity. So GD tasty! 90m decant, in the zone! I wish we had more than this bottle 🤦♂️.
