"The worst characteristics of the 1975 vintage came to mind when I tasted this hard, lean, tannic, attenuated, sinewy 2000. If it does not fill out, it will not even merit the estimated score. (75-79)." -RMP
Enthusiastic re-buy!!! JQBOXLER

The cork split so we decanted and filtered it carefully. Ruby colors. Forest floor and toasted sawdust. Plum and some licorice. Barely any tannins.

Super old school. Dark reddish purple, fading slightly at the rim but otherwise no sign of development. Cherry, smoke, black tea and herbs on the nose. Chewy tannins, creamy red fruit, tobacco leaf, menthol, a touch bitter on the finish. Needs a charred piece of cow flesh and/or another decade.
