Los Carneros Pinot Noir 2015

August Sebastiani & brother-in-law, Kendrick Coakley, craft small-lot wines made with minimal intervention, so one can enjoy the truest representation of each appellation & how its terroir impacts specific varietals. Came across this rarity & tried several vintages, aged 20 months in French oak. Aromas of ripe berry fruits & floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of plum, raspberry & blueberry, cinnamon spice with tobacco and spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with vanilla oaky. Great value! Small production. — 3 months ago

Proprietor's Reserve North Coast Burgundy 1969

Robert Cunningham
9.4

A blend of Carignan, Petite Syrah and Zinfandel (no Pinot Noir need apply), this extraordinarily well made basic wine from the 1969 vintage shows the greatness of this period of California winemaking. It is still youthful and richly spiced and well integrated. Excellent food wine. — 4 years ago

The "Hearty" adjective on the label is very apt. Amazingly, is still holding well after nearly 50 years.
