Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Last ‘12 in my cellar! Blend of 97% Cab Sauv, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cab Franc, aged for 20 months in French oak (55% new), deep Ruby with aromas of dark dried fruit with notes of floral and spices. An ideal growing season in 2012, the palate shows dense ripe dark berry fruit with a touch of leather, cinnamon, espresso, mushroom and cacao. Well integrated with fine structured tannins, the wine is complex yet enjoyable, aged well still has room to run. Long finish ending with ripe fruits and oak. — 2 months ago

Black Label Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Delectable Wine

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label is fabulous. Inky, deep and powerful, the Black Label has so much to offer. Crème de cassis, graphite, new leather, cedar, mint, spice and lavender all run through this full-bodied, unctuous Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. The Black Label pushes all the right buttons. It is a tremendous wine in every way. I loved it. The blend is 87% Leopoldina and 13% Fortuna. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2021)

Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner is a 4th generation winemaker with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tar and sweet spice notes. The palate shows ripe raspberry and jammy cherry with sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! — 5 months ago

Château La Gaffelière

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Delectable Wine

The 2018 La Gaffelière is hands down one of the wines of the vintage. Towering in its stature and vertical lift, the 2018 dazzles right out of the gate. Inky dark fruit, mocha, spice, licorice and leather all run through this deep, wonderfully pliant Saint-Émilion. The 2018 is rich, deep and beautifully resonant, with tremendous depth and tons of stature that builds, all framed by beams of supporting minerality that confer vibrancy. La Gaffelière is distinctive, alluring and arresting right out of the gate. It is another magnificent showing from this reborn estate. The blend is 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Franc. Magnifique! Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Strange wine label. Pun sorta and they choose this metaphor about the country mouse vs town mouse contradiction of wine to run with on the label. Seems like it this company went under 😔. Dark color. Thick boy. Smells like pretty classic Cab. Cassis, leather and berries. Tastes pretty classic too. Deep, rich and hearty. Too bad it’s done. This was great wine. Could of been fun to see how it evolved instead of just enjoying a one off from Grocery Outlet. — 4 months ago

Stone House Vintners

The Lyre Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Texas winery not pause! One of the best Texas white wines ever tasted, mysterious hints of Russian River whites! Very nice on the palate and finish...great for hot summers. I am not a white wine drinker but still enjoyed this wine...light fruit and lemony finish, somewhat sophisticated. Balanced and smooth drinker, not sweet but tart enough. Winery locale very remote with deep Australian roots, multiple generation vintner. Grapes of the Barossa Valley, winery near enough to Austin, TX and Lake Travis. Only available at the tasting room of the winery or the club ...which has over 1000 members! — a month ago

Roots Run Deep Winery

Educated Guess North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Color of saturated purple, a bit bubbly and nice legs. Nose of sweet black cherry, spice, medicinal strawberry syrup, a bit oak, and a bit strength of alcohol. Taste follows the nose with addition of good solid tannins, definitely leaning on the sweet side, tinkling spicy, cherry jam, vanilla, and black pepper. Flavors are dense and mouthful. Aftertaste shows more sweetness and some bitter notes. Definitely a crowd pleaser. — 4 months ago

100% Sangiovese, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits and floral spice. On the palate ripe strawberry and cherry flavors with citrus, tobacco and earthy spice notes. Fine tannins on a smooth long ending with some mineral tones on the finish. Nice value. Good now has a few years to run. — 4 months ago
