The wine last night was the 2015 Clos René Pomerol Right Bank Bordeaux. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec.
On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, black currant, violets, anise, faint hints of oak and earth.
On the palate there is bkack cherry, black raspberry, plum, blaxk currant, licorice, minerals and earth.
This is a full bodied wine with a silky smooth mouthfeel, medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that moves into a long dark fruit earthy finish. As we move firmly into spring and into this coming weekend lets enjoy our lifes fortunate new beginnings. Let us keep or eyes, minds and hearts open to all lifes new rewards.
