Cherries.... dark... but not overly jammy.
This is good. — a month ago
Fun to say about a nine year old wine, but this Rioja needs to be decanted. It was thin fruit juice with little bite in the finish upon first sip. Once it aired out, though, the wine came alive. Dark cherry, stewed strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry jam, black tea, American oak, cinnamon, clove, and a hint of black and white pepper on the palate. Medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, and high acid. Smooth and powerful from start to finish. An example of how masculine a Rioja can present without the need to amp it up with alcohol. — 12 days ago
Gorgeous wine that’s drinking great right now. Rich blackberries, vanilla, dark spices with finely integrated tannins. Beautifully structured. — 2 months ago
Blend of Viura, Albillo Mayor, Alarije (Malvasía Riojana), Jaen, Palomino and even Chasselas
doré from odd vines interplanted within Sabinares’ old vineyards’ predominant red varieties. Fermented in stainless steel, oak and concrete tanks, and aged with lees for nine months. Elegant and complex, with nuanced aromas of nuts, yellow fruit, quince and pollen and extraordinary acidity — 5 days ago
The green apples 🍏 come out nicely... very subtle with food — 2 months ago
Anniversary gift... Cassis and berries, not overly tannic, a bit of smoky spiciness. Dark purple color, and bits of solids in the bottom of the glass. — a month ago
This is a delicious nine-year-old Rioja. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with wood, licorice, vanilla, earth, coffee, light vinaigrette, black tea, peppercorn, wet leaves, spices and light herbs.
Full bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity.
Nice finish with spices and tangy raspberries.
Needs a couple of hours of airtime to open up properly. Still young and will be better in the next 5 to 10 years.
Rich and engaging. Spicy and tasty.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers. Great with the brie cheese.
A blend of 88% Tempranillo and 12% Graciano. Aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

This nine year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking very nicely now.
Nicely balanced, soft and tangy, with a nice mouthfeel and nice complexity. Shows a great nose once it opens up.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and great legs. Dry on the palate and spicy.
Showing black fruits, earth, wood, vanilla, licorice, leather, light vegetables, herbs, tobacco leaf and black tea.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
I've had this vintage a few months ago, and this time I gave it 4 hours to open up. That's when the tannins and structure came in. I should have been more patient last time. Much better now. Tasty and delicious.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
