Great nose and an amazing fruit finish. Paired with sea bass and it was extremely flavorful. Had the 2019 vintage. — 6 days ago

Def a respect. Delicious warm doesn’t need to be cold. No strong taste, light red wine — 10 days ago

Siccagno Nero d'Avola 2019

If Sicilian Nero D’ was made by a Burgundy garagiste, it would taste like this. High quality tannins that add some gravitas to an otherwise fresh and lively example. Outstanding. — a month ago

Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Frappato Nero d'Avola 2017

Opened and poured into a decanter immediately prior to service. The 2017 “Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico” pours a deep, slightly hazy ruby color with a translucent core. Medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of funky strawberries (leaves and all), dark cherries, forest floor, horse blanket (yes, there is a kiss of brettanomyces), some dried herbs, and some light spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finish is medium+, tart and slightly savory. A lovely wine with character and Sicilian charm. Drinking well now with a short decant and should continue to do so through 2030 with ease. — a month ago

Cerasuolo di Vittoria Nero d'Avola Frappato 2020

Consistently well made blend of Nero D’Avola (60%) and Frappato (40%). Bold red fruit (cherry, strawberry and pomegranate) aromas and flavors with additional touches of dried herbs, coffee, orange rind, dried figs, graphite and pepper. Lovely smoky/mineral note on the finish. Medium bodied and medium tannins. Lively and bright. Good stuff. Thank you for opening this one, Ron B! — a month ago
