Montagne Saint Emilion Controlee

Château de la Métairie

Le Colombier de la Métairie Montagne Saint-Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Great vintage of this entry level wine from Maison Blanche. Rich, but balanced. Licorice, cassis, sweet cherries, and some pencil lead. Might even benefit slightly from some short term cellaring. — 2 months ago

Vieux Château Saint André

Montagne-St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

I also have a weak spot for Pomerol’s and right banks from St. Emilion. This find delivers on that Merlot inspired approach. Subtle. Expressive. — 3 months ago

Château du Puy Bonnet

Montagne-Saint-Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Yum. Very smooth. Mostly hints of cherry with some citrus notes — a year ago

Château Bertin

Montagne Saint Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Really nice nose. Very interesting on the pallet. Starts out with a lot of dark fruit and finishes with quite a bit of tannin. A little more than usual but not off putting it all. — 2 months ago

Saint Angelus’ “other” wine. Killer nose. A bit bitter from heavy barrel tannin. — 3 months ago

Château Bechereau

Montagne Saint-Emilion Merlot 2014

Crisp acidity, elegant body, nose of spice and leather — 2 years ago

Château La Guérinière

Saint-Émilion Merlot Cabernet Franc 2016

Very much more backward than the 2018 Montagne-St.Emilion, very structured, medium-dark purple, needs time in the cellar, but solid St. Emilion. — 2 months ago

Château Clos de Boüard

Coralie De Bouard Montagne Saint Emilion 2016

From Dec 2029 Ets Martin, 2016 in 4/30/2021. Red plum, maraschino cherry, battery smell, smoke, iodine. Low tannin. Muscular not plush. Finish quick to cedary flatness — 3 months ago

Château Barrail Tapon

Montagne Saint Emilion Merlot Cabernet Franc 2019

2019 vintage. Château Barrail Tapon, Montagne Saint Emilion. As this is the fourth impeccable wine with amazing value mentioning "vignobles Gabriel & co" this week, it seems safe to say that it is a quality label. This one is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc and it's juicy, fruity and fresh with ripe tannin and good length. Another great value at less than 7 euros. — 9 months ago
