Really nice nose. Very interesting on the pallet. Starts out with a lot of dark fruit and finishes with quite a bit of tannin. A little more than usual but not off putting it all.

Violet with a ruby edge in the glass. Nose is funky. Cherries and soil. French scented odor (and not the perfume). Flavors are tart and dry. Bit of pencil shaving. (Isn’t that known as graphite?). It’s pretty typical (tons of tannin, less fruit driven, inky, bitter). It got better with a little air and would probably be great with age. Overall it’s a good choice for the old world lover in your life.
