Nose has blackberry jam, moist leather, fig paste, charred wood, chopped dark chocolate and faint vanilla.
Palate has dried blueberry, blackberry, dried black currant, muddy garden soil, faint dried strawberry with mild tannins and medium acidity.
Solid pairing to a baked 'Mac & Cheese' dish fancied up with a béchamel sauce, Gorgonzola & Fontina cheeses, breadcrumbs and Casarecce Corte pasta. (Interpretation of a recipe courtesy of Joanne Weir) — a year ago
Awesome Portuguese white wine. — 2 months ago
Still not as good as Luis Seabra — a year ago
day one cru beaujolais nose with underbrush red berry and chicory notes in a dark candy apple red cloak, just lovely and unstoppable….like you can’t stop drinking it…..day two softer darker cloudier more nuanced stewed fruit and vegetal notes, earthier - traded leaf for soil, and a very appealing candied orange rind scented bitter melon finish. both days great with delicate and hearty foodthings, versatile and expansive….if you can find this, lay it down. — 2 years ago
Tops among the many things I enjoy about this are the minerality, purity in delineation, rich mouthfeel, and relatively good value for an old-vine, terroir-driven wine developed with this level of care. — a year ago
