Stunning wine to celebrate our 27th anniversary, still plenty of structure and tannin to make things interesting with age and acid still to keep it fresh to the last drop. Dark rose, saddle leather, sort of a wild like red onion skin note and a bit of anise on the nose. Wine evolved and opened until the last drop, we chose to have it open in the glass rather than decant. If there is any more of this wine go find it!! — 3 months ago

Popped and poured, the 2019 “Vigna Rionda” pours a brilliant garnet color with medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fresh red cherries, forest strawberries, tar, some red flowers, some light baking spices. One the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is dry and finishes with a flourish. A baby and yet this is drinking well right now (as many 2019’s are). Drink now with patience so you can enjoy the ride but I expect this will drink well for the next 15+ years. — a month ago

Raspberry, dried dark flowers, tar and tobacco.
It has a floral and freshness.
Dried cherries, truffles, sweet spices and menthol.
Rustic with earthy richness.
Harvested in 4 sites. Rive in La Morra, Scarrone in Castiglione di Falletto, Baudana and Broglio in Serralunga.
I had a kilo of local fresh Matsutake mushrooms and made risotto with compound truffle butter. — 2 months ago
