Interesting Malbec. Whole cluster fermentation. Aged in Concrete. No oak but somehow seems a bit smoky. Reddish/purple color. Very herbal. Bright red fruit on the nose evolves to more dark berries on the pallet. Hints of mint, wet stones and iron. Very textural. Fascinating and unique. — 18 days ago
v18. Shocked, was expecting deep and dark, and got fresh and bright! Dusty, smoked meat and sharp cedar nose. Fresh , slightly sour cherry fruit. Bright, clean, slate finish. Nicely balanced. Unique. — 4 days ago
— 3 days ago
Waiting for this to open up but it’s already smelling amazing … leather mid tannins oak tobacco blackberry! Argentinian. Eating with steak that coco is cooking for my last night in NYC 😭 he got this bottle from a friend. SILKY AF. Baking spice. This really opened up 30 mins or so after getting out of the fridge — 3 days ago
I am ashamed to say it, but Tupungato Chardonnay is a typical wine by Catena Zapata. Well-made, fresh, and quite sophisticated despite the odds of origin. Everything is in its place. Even the popcorn aroma does not haunt me at night. Add some spices, grass, smoke, sunflower seeds, oil, butter, and tropical notes, good balance and acidity. This is what I have in my glass, as oily as this evening. Nice. — 15 days ago
