Deep burnt orange in color with a lighter orange cream mousse and tiny bubbles. Wonderful nose of dried apricots and honeysuckle. This is echoed on the rich (of course) palate. Lowish (medium minus) acidity — it’s Vidal after all — offset by the tingle of the bubbles. Stone fruity moderate finish. Hard to dislike any icewine, even if it’s Vidal, and the bubbles add a surprising element of fun to this one. A nice celebratory dessert wine to drink with your birthday cake or New Year’s pudding. Will likely lose some bubbles after a decade, but should satisfy through 2039 and beyond. — 6 months ago
