Macallan Distillery

The Macallan 12 Years Old Double Cask Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Really nice bottle that I find to be a bit more tame and integrated when compared to The Dalmore 12, which is also aged in Oloroso casks (both American and European oak). This selection has sweet caramel & fig, winter spices, toffee, and some nuanced citrus and fresh wood. — 8 months ago

30 Year Old Deoch an Doras Cask Strength Edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1980

3rd In the tasting. Am I swayed by him telling me this is hard to get and a “silent” distillery meaning they don’t normally release? Yeah probably. Leader of the tasting says this is one of his favorites. I’m going to say it’s the allure of the story that’s catching us. — 4 months ago

Ichiro's

Malt & Grain Blended Whisky

The Chichibu Distillery in Hokkaido Japan is boutique in the extreme with just 14 employees and two small copper pot stills. This whisky is a blend of Japanese material blended with Whiskies sourced from around the world including Canada, the USA, Ireland and Scotland. Typical attention to detail has produced a meticulous blend showing more highland grainy flavours than the peaty west coast flavours of Scotland. If I ever return to Niseko for skiing I will make an attempt to visit this wonderful little distillery in Hokkaido. 46% ABV. — 5 months ago

Lovely bottle I picked up from Highland Park Wine. Funky in a good way, a little minerally. Getting me through Day 3 of the corona quarantine like a champ. — a year ago
