Glass-staining ruby. Smoke- and spice-tinged dark berry, cherry and violet scents pick up a hint of licorice with air. In a fleshy, generous style, showing very good depth and appealing sweetness to the cherry preserve and cassis flavors, which take on a spicy aspect on the back half. Smooth, even tannins frame a long, smoky finish that leaves a hint of bitter chocolate behind. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2020)

Goodness gracious 2015 N. Rhone whites are the truth. No alternate facts here. Stunning nose. Earthy, tropical, mineral. Smells like it will be stuffed. Terrific palate impact with the typical strange Marsanne minerality. Structured, dry and complex. Probably even better in 2-3 years. Amazing amount of wine for the money. The sap and dry extract is bonkers. Marsanne is super special in 15. — 4 years ago
This is a perfect example of Syrah. — 4 years ago
Archetypal northern Rhône Syrah and I love it! Black pepper, bacon fat, dark fruits, and just a hint of floral elegance to balance the rustic nature of the wine. It’s a bit austere at first, but opens up after some air and has fantastic integration in the palate. — 6 months ago
Stunning nose. Super floral and mint. Wow, what florals. Stunning minerality. So precise and pungent. Fresh wool, tweed. What a nose. Palate is full and I mean FULL of fruit, but then it’s backed up by major granite minerality and a lovely savory beefiness. This is really classy and refined. Amazing sweetness that turns so quickly to mineral and then finishes again with a squeeze of blackberry. Wow. What structure, energy and just stunning purity. Insane finesse. Like a Hermitage. A rock star of a Crozes. — 2 years ago
