Poured at the Domaine by Vincent Ruiz, who has taken over the Estate and finished the bottling of this wine. The label was selected by Belluard’s wife, Valerie. After tasting through tank samples of the 2022 Gringets, it appears the Domaine (now called Domaine du Gringet) is in excellent hands. A beautiful site and a highly recommended visit. — 3 years ago
Refreshing semi dry. Clean on the palate. Great wine for while I cook — 4 years ago
Here’s an incredibly approachable, succulent, and delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Napa Valley, California.
We enjoyed sipping this wine while participating in a virtual wine tasting with Assistant Winemaker Luis Contreras, who provided context behind this wine’s beautiful label.
He explained that in 1970’s there were more than 35 vineyard workers who worked the land at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars. Some stayed and others left to become winemakers and/or vineyard owners of their own.
They all left an indelible handprint on the trajectory of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and this label pays tribute to them and their influence on the success of Stag’s Leap. The label was inspired by the real-life plaques created with these individuals’ handprints on French Limestone which remain on the walls of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars to this day.
This wine is medium purple. Very fruit-forward with ripe blackberry, black currant, and boysenberry, also anise, dark chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, and clove. It has balance with a good amount of acidity to complement the ripe fruit characteristics and higher alcohol (14.3% ABV). It has smooth tannins. It is ready to drink now.

Tasty but the oak treatment makes it taste more like Nebbiolo than Pinot. Enjoyable but lacking a bit of that bright fruit I seek in a Pinot. Vinissimus online order — 6 years ago

Had it with Ramos, Siguard @JAH
Syrah often delivers juicy, darker red with lots of tannins- this wine however comes across as extremely juicy, dark- but far less tannic.
Lots of blueberry, dark berry, and a hint of spice in the end
Dont be cheap, it’s really good.
