Feudo Antico

Tullum Pecorino 2019

This Abruzzo white wine is tinted yellow. It smells of citrus, mostly - Meyer lemon, lime and tangerine. There is also an earthy aroma like that of apricots. The apricot note is more noticeable on the palate, with all that citrus coming along for the ride. The acidity is quite fresh, very refreshing. The finish is medium and carries apricot and salinity, along with the Meyer lemon. — 20 days ago

Valle Reale

Vigneto di Popoli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2015

This wine is medium dark with aromas of black cherry, cassis and blackberry wafting up from the glass. There is also a bit of leather, tobacco and pencil lead. The palate offers cherry, licorice and baking spices, along with a nice acidity and medium-firm tannins. The sip is really enjoyable, but it pairs well with a steak or anything Bolognese. — 17 days ago

Smooth and dare I say delectable. As good or better than the 2016. It has a slight bite bit is still easy drinking. For the price this is a treat. A delicious Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. — 9 days ago

Terre di Chieti Pecorino 2019

Juicy pear aromas that come through in the palate, good acid balanced by a round body and lingering saltiness. Yum! — 8 days ago

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2015

Should have waited at least 5 more years for this to mature but what beautiful acidity, body, balance. A white burgundy in disguise. — 17 days ago

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017

v17. Big wine totally over delivers. Crushed berries and violet nose. Rich, deep, black cherry and tar fruit. Full bodied, dry astringent finish. Pretty wild , but good. — 17 days ago

Deep nose of dark berry fruits, dark cherry fruits and chunky earth and wet soil. Somewhat refined which is unusual for MDA. Palate is super concentrated and sleek. Good purity and concentration. Terrific refinement. Velvety tannins and superb finesse. Lovely tiny berry fruit intensity and length. Like if one of the polished traditional Rhone guys (Durand, Tunnel) made MDA. Lovely stuff and lots of upside. Gets more rustic and charming while retaining its sleek fruit. Stoney tannins. Very ripe. Terrific. — 3 days ago

Tenuta Terraviva

Giusi Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rosato 2019

This Italian rosato lights up the glass beautifully in a blaze of cherry red. The nose - the expected cherry, strawberry, cassis notes - has an undercurrent of tar and is draped in a muscular earthiness. The fruit flavors come along on the palate bright and fresh, with a beautiful acidity. The grapes, by the way, are Montepulciano with limited skin contact and steel vinification and aging. — 19 days ago

Fantini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

For the price, it is surprisingly good. But just not enough character vs other sangiovese's like tavernello. — 14 days ago
