Dense ruby red with light purple flecks. A wide brim with clear signs of bricking. The nose is certainly not tired with plenty of black olives, licorice, and chocolate cake. Old leather and coffee with dried cherries and plums. A little fat from the grill too just to make it even better.
The American project from Jonathan Maltus of Chateau Teyssier and baby, this is not your standard copy and paste Napa Cab. This is some serious stuff. Big but not huge. Full of depth but not ponderous. Rich and full throttled but not a mess of indistinct fruit. The ripeness of the fruit never crosses the line. Pronounced fruit on the palate with hedonistic cherries and explosive blue fruits. Beautiful vegetal notes along with a burst of green forest. Firm tannins and long finish. Starting to show its age a little so drink them if you got them. I’m not sure these wines are made anymore so if you see any, get them all. — 2 years ago
Pity about the nose, it’s quite corked but this has not affected the wine, wonderful fruit, great balance between tannin and acid, lovely structure. — 6 years ago
Snygg, klassisk St Emillion. Riktigt gott redan nu. — 7 months ago
2016 vintage. Selected by Jonathan Maltus (Le Dôme, Teyssier and other Saint-Emilions + World's End in Napa Valley), this is a Merlot-driven Bordeaux Supérieur, in a lightly oaked blend with Cabernet Franc. Red cherries and strawberry jam with just a hint of oak. Juicy and ripe sweet red fruit, soft tannin and good length. Nice value at 11 euro. Has an old-world-meets-new-world feel about it. Who said Bordeaux isn't sexy? Abv. 13%. Well done again Mr. Maltus! — 3 years ago
We love it!!! Great Bordeaux. Need to buy more — 6 years ago
Not the most complex saint emilion I've tasted, but thoroughly enjoyable — 6 years ago
More front forward then expected..paired well with the Burrata and brought out the complexity a bit. Is growing well in the bottle — 8 months ago
I’ve been a little bit on a Bordeaux thing recently, and wanted to pop this for a weekend dinner. It’s really nice. Inviting nose draws you in with sweet dark berry fruit, a bit of graphite and gravel, and some sweet vanillin. So soft, mouthfilling, yet not heavy. Flavors are clingy and have a dense savory streak, but there is nice fruit still underneath. Still some tannin present. No rush on this but it’s really nice now. — 2 years ago
A touch too young but lots of solid flavors at various levels. — 4 years ago

No regrets at the $75 paid. Typical St. Emilion with dark berries and oak. A bit too much acidity and tannins for me, even on the 2nd day, but that could still mellow with a few more years of storage. Decent wine. — 5 months ago
