Nuances Comte de Saint Victor Bandol Mourvedre Rosé 2021

Salmon in color.

Fresh nose with red berries, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red fruits, citrus, earth, spices, apples and minerals.

This Single Vineyard Rosé is elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting. Fruit forward with enough earth notes to compliment it.

Still very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too.

A blend of 95% Mourvedre with 5% Clairette. Aged in concrete vats for 9 months.

14% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$55.

In a dumb phase. Delicious and feminine turned earthy and funky. Best of both worlds! — 7 years ago

Domaine du Gros' Noré

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2015

Domaine Du Gros ‘Noré harvests some of the most pedigreed fruit in Bandol, for years selling their grapes to Domaine Ott and Château de Pibarnon. Today, they craft a Bandol Rouge of elegance and length. Its fruit profile in this vintage veers just a notch redder than many of its peers - tasting of red currants, plum and game. 80% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache, 5% Cinsaut.

A bit fruity in the front and deep dark in the back. Great sipping wine. Medium bodied and easy. Lingers for a while very pleasantly. — 11 years ago

Bandol Mourvedre Blend Rosé 2019

I am just a sucker for bandol rose. Not the complexity or detail of tempier or pibarnon, but delicious nonetheless — 5 years ago

Enough complexity, enough acidities, enough body, great harmony, 99,99% pure and absolutely no hint of superficiality. Cleaner than Pradeaux or Gaussen and earthier than Pibarnon and Tempier. Tastes exactly right. — 7 years ago

Bandol Bourboulenc Blend 2010

2010 vintage drinking great now. True black cherry. Forest floor. Grippy tannins. Loved this. — 17 days ago

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2019

— 2 years ago

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2004

2020/6/30 with chicken and preserved lemon tagine, grilled zucchini and couscous. Cellared for 10+ years at home. This was “à point”, with lots of fruit and hints of tertiary semis emerging. It didn’t have the effusive character of the 2003 Pibarnon we recently had but was lovely all the same — 6 years ago

On the nose; lightly perfume pink roses, spring wild flowers, lean fruits with a slight gummy bear character, strawberries, watermelon near the rhine, cherries, candied red apple, orange citruses, beautiful chalkiness, strong volcanic minerals and sea spray.

The body is full, round, thick and a touch gluey. Lean fruits with a slight gummy bear character, strawberries, watermelon near the rhine, cherries, candied red apple, orange citruses, beautiful chalkiness, volcanic minerals and sea spray with lightly perfume pink roses, spring wild flowers. The acidity is round and full. The finish is well polished...thick, gluey and waxy. It’s elegant and very easy to drink. The only thing that I struggle with this wine is the minerality is a bit heavy for my tastes. It’s gritty minerals dig deep into the palate on the long finish. But, I still appreciate it as it’s a good contrast to other Bandol Rosés. Like, Tempier and Chateau Pibarnon Bandol etc..

Photos of, Domaine Gris du Nore and grounds, their field hands harvesting, tasting room and the most amazing field of Lavender I’ve seen.
