Lightly floral, slightly sweet and a touch of smoke (unpeated)... oily mouthfeel. Good dram. — 3 years ago
The Exclusive Malts Aged 20 Years "Highlands". Labeled as Glenmorangie at the bar. Excellent but requires a little water as it's cask strength out of the bottle. Delicious! — 6 years ago
5th in the tasting. First of the peat. Really nicely done. Not overly peaty. FYI supposedly the 12 is as good at a better price. Craziest thing I heard? Try the Nikka 21 with sushi. Not sure how we got here and on this topic but I think it was due to the peat/no peat differences. This is one that Start said he always has for company. He also called out the Macallan 25 and Reflection (not a house whiskey obviously but there for special occasions). I noted I need to come over more often! I’m rating higher due to the hint of peat. — a year ago
Peated with some hint of iodine. Dry and not really invasive with the smoky flavour. — 3 years ago
Sherry cask, 'comfort food' — 6 years ago
Simply mind blowing. Chocolate, over ripe banana, wet tobacco and burnt sugar. — 5 years ago
Pickled, salty, oceanic, smoked plum, bran muffin, soft caramel, a minuscule hint of fish oil offset by mint and bay leaf enveloping adhesive aromas. Full, burgeoning mouthfeel expressing lemon oil, coarse black pepper, oak, apple peel, baked pear, lemongrass, graphite, dark caramel, vanilla in a pointy finish with eucalyptus. — 6 years ago
