Vermentino's always on my mind. From the jagged border between Tuscany and Liguria #IvanTerenzuolaGiuliani makes this glowing wines as a full-strenght demonstration of his own vitality, caution, obstinacy, imagination, respect for environment, connection with land-people-tradition... I'm so proud and glad to be a friend of Ivan 😀 http://www.terenzuola.it/ — 8 years ago

Fantastic organic wine from Fosdinovo, Tuscany (northern Tuscany near Liguria, 4km from the sea). 4000 bottles produced. Canaiolo Nero 85%, 15% other indigenous red grapes. Permano - made with hands. Romans planted many varietals here 2000 years ago, and currently they have rediscovered 256 native varieties in the area. Turned into coal mine, then back to vineyards. Barley, oats, legumes, mustard seeds, Fescue grass (melliferous plant-honey bees attracting) planted in vineyards. Slavonian oak barrels. Not a fan of small barrels, but the untoasted small oaks used in the cellar are for used for pomace for 12-24 months. Rhubarb, Laurel, aromatic herbs, beautiful aroma! Paired well with pizza.
