Barbera d’Asti DOCG from second generation of the Buganza family. Organic property, minimal intervention wines. Fruit and earth- dark cherry, plum, blackberry, dried brush, dried herbs, old leather; a blast of fresh M+ acidity followed by slightly rustic M tannins mingle in a balanced fashion on a medium finish. It has the structure to hang out a few more years yet drinking delightfully now. A producer/property I’d love to visit, they’ve got a productive little ecosystem (fruits, vegetables) and a skin contact Arneis. — 2 months ago
A great example of new generation, harmoniously balanced Chenin Blanc, it delivers a bouquet of honey, juicy ripe pineapple and crisp green apple. It is suggested to share and create your own memories at 11 Alice Lane @eDikeni kitchen bar & lounge. — 2 months ago
Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner is a 4th generation winemaker with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tar and sweet spice notes. The palate shows ripe raspberry and jammy cherry with sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! — 19 days ago
This wine is like Bruckner‘s 8th symphony: Easy to appreciate, hard to fully comprehend, marvellously complex and when you think it‘s finally finished it is actually just slowly building up for what is yet to come. — 2 months ago
Powerhouse wine. 12 years old but not showing any age at all. Black currant present. Drinking smoothly. — 3 months ago
Had this in late 2019, this is a new batch, a Fav! Rodolphe Péters took over the reins of this venerable estate in the southern Côte des Blancs in 2008, becoming the 4th generation to lead since the estate was founded in 1919, under the name Camille Péters. 100% Chardonnay, Crisp, fine mousse with steady flow of bubbles. Citrus, and biscuit aromas. Fresh fruit flavors of peach, apples and lemons, smooth and dry. Long mineral finish ending with elegance. Nice! Consistent quality! — 4 months ago
Vintage 2018 | textbook Cabernet Franc, light colour, with - my opinion 🤨 - frivolous smell, bell pepper in positive sense, minerals. Taste with interesting balance between acidity and some candy impression. Love it for a weekdays wine. Anjou could be ultimately stubborn a generation ago, in the hands of a talented winegrower cabfranc can give lots of joy and even become magic. | paired with mixed vegatables and venison ( I am happy) — a month ago
Wine Spectator #7 This family-owned winery, founded in 1896, is run today by fourth-generation brothers Franco and Roberto Massolino. Located in the heart of the village of Serralunga d’Alba, the 100-acre estate is known for its single-vineyard Barolos from Margheria, Parafada, Parussi and Vigna Rionda, yet it’s their classic-style Barolo from the excellent 2016 vintage that earns a spot on our list for its quality and value. A blend of Nebbiolo from parcels in Briccolina, Le Turne, Collaretto, Broglio and Damiano in Serralunga, with 5 percent from Parussi in Castiglione Falletto, the wine aged 29 months in 5,000-liter Slavonian oak casks. — 2 months ago
