Family history dates back to the 16th century. Name of Grand-Puy, mentioned in documents from Middle Ages, comes from ancient term "puy" means "hillock, small height". Since 16th century, property was passed from generation to generation, until 1920s when the Borie's bought the property. 80% Cab Sauv, 80% new oak, aromas of ripe red fruits with floral spice. Palate shows blackberry and cherry fruit, well balanced, nice oak integration, chewy tannins ending with spicy mineral tones. — 5 years ago

Had this over a year ago, this is a new batch, a Fav! Rodolphe Péters took over the reins of this venerable estate in the southern Côte des Blancs in 2008, becoming the fourth generation to lead since the estate was founded in 1919, under the name Camille Péters. 100% Chardonnay, Crisp, fine mousse with steady flow of bubbles. Citrus, and biscuit aromas. Fresh fruit flavors of peach, apples and lemons, smooth and dry. Long mineral finish ending with elegance. Nice! — 7 years ago

$56 on the wine list. $30 Happy Hour price. It will be interesting to find it in the retail program. An ok wine, we like the Penfolds cheap product a bit better. — 4 years ago

Giovanni Allegrini was the founder of the new generation and revolutionized changes to accepted practices. A blend of Corvina Veronese 45%, Corvinone 45%, Rondinella 5% & Oseleta 5%, deep Ruby with aromas of dried dark fruits, spice and herb, about 120 days of appassimento. Palate shows ripe cherry & raspberry flavors with fig, cacao, flint and mineral tones. Soft smooth tannins well balanced with acidity on a long spicy finish. Will continued to get better with age. My note of 49 weeks ago tells the full story of this historic vineyard planted in 1885 and tended by 6th generation Ralph Schrapel. Part of the Peter Lehmann VSV (Very Special Vineyard) series. This wine is delicious old school Barossa with ripe plum, dark chocolate, cherry, liquorice and coffee grounds. A hint of prune on the nose. Great to be drinking these rich reds as the weather cools down. This vineyard is in the Ebenezer sub district of the Barossa. My last bottle sadly. — 5 years ago

Tried this twice and very much enjoyed it both times. — 6 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Third generation grower Jim Maresh launched his own brand in 2007. Maresh Vineyard was first planted in 1970 by grandparents Jim & Loie. Medium Ruby color with aromas of aa array of red berry fruits with a touch of cooling mint. On the palate cherry and berry fruits, well structured, with a touch of rustic spice. Fine dusty tannins, balanced with acidity, medium-bodied, long finish ending with earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — a day ago
