— 5 years ago
67% Zinfandel - 33% Petite Sirah. 100 cases produced. 15.9% alcohol. Great drinking wine, crowd pleaser. Didn’t taste like it was that high of alcohol percentage. Dark berry, cassis, with a very “thick” mouthfeel. If you like the old Prisoner or Venge’s Scout’s Honor then you will love this wine. I would either aerate it or decanter it for at least 30 minutes. Lots of life yet. Great QPR, especially coming from a small higher end Napa producer. — 5 years ago
100% hela druvklasar användes här. Den har, säkert pga sin unga ålder, en ganska grön karaktär idag. Örter och kryddor dominerar med frisk bärighet och lätt tanninavslut. — 3 years ago
dark purple; plum, blackberry jam, licorice, mint, spices; dark berry bramble, good length; blend of 84% Zinfandel, 7% Petite Sirah, 7% Alicante Bouschet, 2% Mataro; comprised primarily of 100 year-old vines, Ridge has had a bottling since 1991, spends 11 months in American oak only 10% of which is new; $39 — 5 years ago
Light reddish in color with a brick hue.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Showing red fruits with light oak notes, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.
I had it 2 years ago and it is drinking better now. Nice and elegant. Spicy and interesting.
This 6 year old is still drinking very nicely, although will not last long, so drink up.
Nicely balanced with nice complexity. Fruit forward and engaging.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 30 minutes of airtime.
100% Pinot Noir grapes from a Single Vineyard, were aged in (30% new) oak barrels. A small production of only 1,100 bottles.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
Our trip ended with a tasting of Lewelling & Hayfork, courtesy of daughter Haley at their family home in the vineyard. Although I’m not posting pics of the Lewelling cabs (2017s and didn’t have labels yet), they are impressive, and the Wight vineyard cab is flat out delicious!
The fruit here is the same as Lewelling’s wines, but there is usually a splash of petit Verdot to give more color and structure compared to the 100% Cabernets that Lewelling bottles. Dense, ripe and chewy. Very dark in the glass showing sweet smoke, blackberry compote, baking spices, and espresso aromatics. Whereas the Lewellings have a beautiful red and black cherry liqueur type profile, this is decidedly darker, but every bit as tannic and age worthy. Added notes of graphite, currant, creme de cassis and mixed berry pie at the finish. — 4 years ago
