A nice pleasing burn in your nose greets you, followed by a warm sensation & a plum or blackberry note. Soft hints of vanilla & charred oak follow with a definite spice after note. This is a good bottle for the year with plenty of complexity for a wine so young. — 9 years ago

A nice smooth taste, with a hint of burn that never materializes. A little sparse on depth of taste, only minor hints of spice and dark fruit. — 9 years ago
Slight hint of smoked meat & sour hits you on the first taste. The sour subsides to a slight apple, or pear taste. Strong charred oak taste occasionally comes through. — 9 years ago
Strong sour apple smell. Quite a harsh first taste, with a mild sour taste that lingers for a long time. Hints of smoke and char that are overpowered by the sour. — 9 years ago

Very unique flavor for a California wine. Nice smokey notes that make it quite drinkable. — 9 years ago
Quite the surprising bottle of goodness. An initial burn, never materializes, while letting a strong cherry, caramel & milk chocolate note sneak up on you. Following this is a pleasant warm feeling in your chest & nose. All in all, a very complicated experience for a bottle that was less than a year old, but definitely worth the price. — 9 years ago
