Planted in 1886, from west Lodi, while cluster fermentation is implemented for better color and tannins.
No new oak, makes for light and easy drinking. 1000 cases — 9 years ago
Funky Zinfandel block that has 13-15% Tinturier varieties, like Alicante Bousche, Amaron, Petit Bousche.
Classic Russian River style, lotta pepper and razz, acidity is really the framework of the mouthfeel, best of the Carlisles tasted tonight. Higher alcohol. Still needs 2 years. — 9 years ago
Alrightthe first night, gave it two days and it was phenomenal. Eaten with strawberry and balsamic icecream sundae. Cherry, strawberry, and coffee complimented with a dark chocolate reverse. Medium tannins for Pinot . — 8 years ago
A lot more baking spice and caramel notes. Just amazing balance, and one of those wines where everything works together enough it doesn't indicate any flavor specifics. — 9 years ago
Vines planted in 1886. Grown at 1000 ft elevation with pretty harsh botrytis pressure. Iron rich soils and crazy slopes for 300 acres. Also a bit of Semillon and
Cabernet in there too.
Aged on 25% new oak. Burnt rubber and blueberry pie. A very expressive Napa wine, but not entirely my jazz. — 9 years ago
Monterosso vineyard from 1886, Muscadelle, and a little bit of Palomino, in 1895. Spiced pear nose, light viscosity, needs acidity, otherwise delightful. — 9 years ago
Highest priority wine, but also the most finicky. Malolactic always takes the longest.
Toaster strudel. Alcohol makes the RO just phenomenal, like a Femme Fatale. — 9 years ago
Picked from 2 elevations, lower elevation in a submerge cap fermentation, native, American oak 20%new.
Garlic butter and eucalyptus, beautiful extraction for Zinfandel. Food wine tannins, reduced RO — 9 years ago
75% Mourvèdre, with a dash of Carignane, Zinfandel, and a few weird hybrids. Our pourers own pet project to revigorate this vineyard for free in an attempt to learn. It was tasked to him as a Zinfandel vineyard.
2014, so too young, but the most amazing aroma of buttered popcorn and a razz tart. Mouthfeel is disappointing, and oddly may need more oxygen. — 9 years ago

Light viscosity which bothers me. Concord pie and blueberry tart. High ethanol reverse. Heavy oak. Two years and it would have been singing. — 8 years ago
