Smell: Black berries, black currant, sweetness, oak
Taste: A not so nice sweetness that kills the entire wine. It's a ripasso.
With food or cheese the berries and hints of oak, vanilla and leather toke more room as the sugary flavour went down.

Served: With fallow deer stew served with assorted roots.
Colour: Deep red and almost black in the middle.
Smell: Big smell of forest blackberries and cherries. Tones of bay leaf, perfume. Needs more time to open up.
Taste: Dry, a very nice balance between tannins and fruit with long lasting tannins that gives a nice black pepper flavour.
Rich with dark berries and spices.
A beautiful and tasty syrah!
Let it air for a few hours first to wake up more.

Served: With pulled pork, roasted potatoes, bean and goat cheese salad.
Colour: Dark, dark red, black in the middle.
Smell: heavy berries, closed, needs to be aired a long time.
Taste: Big berry flavours. Heavy tannins, needs foods that are salty or that have some acidity. Opens up with foods and has more longer lasting fruit.
Without food the tannins can be feel going from the tounge all the way to the gum, leaving a gruff taste/feeling for a long time.

Should be in the cellar a bit more or served with the right food.

Colour: Just plain red. A nice clean red.
Smell: Dark berries and fruits, tones of tobacco.
Taste: Huge fruitiness and flavours of black berries, blackcurrant. Hints of tobacco.
Great long lasting tannins and a nice present acidity.
An amazing syrah for the price!!!

Smell: Brie cheese and honey. Cherries and notes of strawberry.
Taste: Light, not so pungent fruits. No notes of pepper or spices by itself, but when combined with the pork a more spicy flavour emerges.
Boring acidity, to mellow.

A not so interesting Pinot from Cali.
